| Mother's Day Present - I Love Mom Apron - How Cute!!! | | This year for Mother's Day, my 4 year old daughter made me the cutest apron in her preschool class. The apron is white and says "I Heart Symbol Mom" and it has a rainbow of colors of her little hand prints all over the front of it. It was so sweet it almost made me cry.[em]blush[/em]These are the precious little things you get over the years that mean so much, especially once your little ones have grown up and had families of their own.I know my oldest child is now 18 years old, they grow so fast. I always keep their little gifts they have made for me through the years and I frame alot of their artwork so I have it forever.(I am so sentimental!)[em]rolleyes[/em]Did you get something cute like this for Mother's Day? I think it is so much better to get something made with their little hands than it is to get something like jewelry or something.Have a great day and happy myLotting!!![em]happy[/em] | |
| | I have a very devious daughter.... | | This morning after finally managing some sleep last night, the first night in 3 days.. I get up and am feeling pretty good, but that soon turned down right crappy. My 17 month old daughter had gotten up last night while everyone was sleeping, and somehow managed to get something to climb on, get on the deep freeze to get a red pen and draw a lovely picture on my wall... Now this isn't the first time she's done this. She's used purple crayon one time, to make a lovely place mat on the table... the next time it was blue pen all over the wall by the front door... the 3rd time it was pencil (photo attached) and this time lovely red.... We keep all this stuff put up so she can't easily get it, but she somehow ALWAYS fines a way to get it... how many other little artist do we have out there? | |

When your kids have brought home an abundance of paintings and drawings from school and you find yourself overwhelmed. Not only will it organize and protect those precious treasures for years to come.HOW TO WASH A BABY'S HAIR WITH LESS FUSS
When a baby is having their hair washed, they always try and breathe as the water is going over their face, and swallow water which causes a crying baby. If you blow on their face just before you pour the water, they instinctively take a deep breath in, so then you can rinse their hair while they are exhailing.(NOTE ITS BEST TO ALWAYS TRY AND KEEP THE WATER FROM GOING IN THEIR FACE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT ITS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE)TEETHING IDEAS
Babies love to chew on frozen peas when teething. It feels good... | |

| | Public School and our money | | My boys are now adults and my daughter will be 12 tommorow. My son's went to public school. When I was pregnant with my girl I decided to homeschool her.I have never been anywhere near well off financially and each year the month before school started we would go shopping and a lot of times I would have to borrow money.I would have to buy them new school clothes, making sure that they had sneakers for gym class. Then I got school supplies from the list that the school sent me.Then on the the first day of school they would come home with the big manila envelope, called a packet.Inside was the forms to be filled out and many things requesting money.Like student insurance, gym suits for the older kids, art supply funds wanted, tissues for the classroom, and a new school supply list to replace what I had already bought[em]sad[/em].One year when my youngest son was in elementary school after school had been started for about 3 months,he came home and said that the teacher said that he needed to bring a pencil to school the next day.I asked him what happened to the 2 ten packs I sent at the begining of school. He answered me saying that he did not know, but he got no work done all day because... | |

| how many Mylots have art hanging on there walls? | | Now I guess I will get called a snob again like I did after the do you have a home alarm system but I'm going to ask. John's mom is an artist and I love her stuff but for years before I knew John I never hung pictures on my walls that you would by say at walmart. I would go to flea market or garage sales and look for something some painted or made with anything. I love art I love the idea that someone's hands made this. I could even be a vase an ashtray or something I could not identify believe me I have a few of those. I don't like mass produced things. For instance I had a mass produced coffee table and end tables. John's mom messed them up by denting them with a hammer, sand paper, a then crackle them and antiqued them now I LOVE them . They look a 100 years old. Her paintings are everywhere in our home and anyone who visits goes crazy over them which makes me very proud. she is very folky and so non main steam. I'm wondering about other Mylotters. Please don't feel because I'm not a standard person that you expressing your love of Ethan Allen or Pottery Barn is not OK please share!! I'm curious how many of you prefer real art or prints, or your kids art lol
